Pepsi roasted for expanding beyond soda: ‘Is this a joke?’
Pepsi Enters the Condiment Business with Colachup
Pepsi has made a surprising move into the condiment business just in time for Independence Day, but not everyone is excited about the idea of cola-flavored hotdogs.
The soda maker has partnered with the Culinary Institute of America and competitive eater Joey Chestnut to create a new condiment called “Colachup.” This unique collaboration has resulted in a product that will be available at baseball parks across the country.

Colachup, described as a “Pepsi-infused condiment,” will offer sports fans a chance to enhance the flavors of their hotdogs at select ballparks. The vibrant citrus blend of Pepsi will complement the tangy characteristics of ketchup and balance the smokiness of the hot dog.
According to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, Americans are expected to consume over 150 million hot dogs on July 4. With this in mind, Pepsi is confident that hot dogs are #BetterWithPepsi and aims to take the hot dog experience to the next level with Colachup.
Joey Chestnut, a 15-time hotdog-eating champion, expressed his enthusiasm for the product, stating, “People might be surprised, but outside of competitions I love eating hot dogs at a more leisurely pace, and there’s no better way to eat a hot dog — steamed, grilled, or fried — than with a perfectly cool and crisp Pepsi.”
While Pepsi’s partner is thrilled about the new condiment, some people on Twitter have expressed their doubts:

Fans of Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Yankees will have the opportunity to try Colachup at their home games on July 4. However, Pepsi has cautioned that this limited-time condiment should not become a long-term addiction.
