According to Page Six, Davidson is receiving treatment at a facility in Pennsylvania, the same place where entertainer John Mulaney sought help for substance abuse.
A source close to Davidson stated, “Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it. He has a lot of people in his corner who love him and support him, and are proud of him.”
TMZ reported that Davidson’s girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, and his friends are fully supportive of his efforts to prioritize his mental health. It is also mentioned that he voluntarily checks himself into rehab periodically to continue his personal growth.
Earlier this month, Davidson faced charges of reckless driving after allegedly crashing his car into a home in Beverly Hills. However, this incident is separate from his decision to seek treatment for his mental health.
In a previous interview, Davidson openly shared his diagnosis of BPD, stating, “I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it. Then, when somebody finally tells you, the weight of the world feels lifted off your shoulders. You feel so much better.”
In another interview with Charlemagne Tha God, Davidson revealed his ongoing struggles with depression.
