Pete Sessions and Texas GOP leaders skip Trump Waco kickoff rally
The Washington Examiner has learned that a Republican senator who represents the Central Texas town where former President Donald Trump will march followers in his first significant 2024 campaign rally on Saturday may decline to attend the significant home party.
One of many Republicans who will attend the event at Waco Regional Airport on Saturday night is Rep. Pete Sessions( R – TX ), a former congressman from the Dallas area who is now residing in waco, Texas. Trump endorsed Sessions in 2018.

Sessions has not yet endorsed any 2024 Republican candidates, and Trump’s upcoming campaign rally may present challenges for Republicans who are worried about being associated with an occasion that coincides with the 30th anniversary of the federal government sabotaging an anti-government religion in the community. Trump also runs the risk of becoming the only former president to be charged in connection with a Manhattan criminal investigation involving Stormy Daniels’ quiet capital.

Both Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi and Waco Mayor Dillon Meek, who will be at a dinner for the 10th Court of Appeals as Trump takes the stage, won’t be there.
