Six people killed in California plane crash.
A Tragic Plane Crash in Riverside County, California
A devastating incident occurred in Riverside County, California on Saturday, claiming the lives of all six individuals aboard a ill-fated plane.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s office swiftly responded to the distress call, arriving at the scene before 4:15 a.m. The grim reality unfolded as they discovered the aircraft, completely consumed by flames, in a nearby field.
“Deputies located an aircraft fully engulfed in flames in a field,” a statement from the sheriff’s office read.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) wasted no time in launching an investigation into the tragic crash. In a statement to the Washington Examiner, the NTSB confirmed that a team of five investigators will be dispatched and are expected to arrive later today.
“Preliminary information indicates the airplane departed from Harry Reid International Airport [in Nevada] en route to French Valley Airport [in California]. The airplane crashed short of French Valley Airport during its second approach around 4:15 a.m. PDT,” NTSB told the Washington Examiner.
The Riverside County Fire Department also had their hands full, battling the resulting blaze that consumed approximately an acre of vegetation. However, their swift response and tireless efforts led to the containment of the fire within just ninety minutes.
The NTSB anticipates filing their initial report within fifteen days, but a comprehensive investigation of this magnitude typically takes anywhere from twelve to twenty-four months to complete.
