CNN is the most polarizing news source, according to a recent poll, as the network shifts its focus.
CNN Remains the Most Polarizing News Source Despite Recent Changes
A recent YouGov poll has found that CNN is still the most polarizing news source, despite recent changes made by CEO Christ Licht to fix its partisan reputation.
Partisan Differences
According to the poll, there is a significant 92-point difference between the net trust of Democrats (+55) and Republicans (-37) in the network. MSNBC follows closely behind CNN with a 91-point partisan difference, and the New York Times has an 82-point difference.
Changes at CNN
CNN has been making big changes under CEO Christ Licht, who took over in May 2022. The outlet, which is facing record-low ratings, is now focusing more on objective reporting than the partisan commentary it became known for throughout the Trump administration.
In late April, CNN fired longtime anchor Don Lemon, who was widely criticized as sexist in February when he made derogatory comments about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.
However, the network may have signaled its move in a new direction when it announced last week that it will broadcast a town hall with Donald Trump. The former president’s team said “CNN executives made a compelling pitch” and that the broadcast can “jumpstart” the relationship that Trump used to have with the network.
Poll Details
