Poll After State of the Union Indicates Trump Ahead of Biden
Trump Edges Ahead of Biden Post-State of the Union
The latest poll numbers are in, and they’re causing a stir. In the wake of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, a HarrisX survey spotlights former President Donald Trump taking the lead in the 2024 Presidential race.
Conducted between March 8th and 10th, the poll revealed Trump’s four-point advantage with 45% of voters leaning his way compared to Biden’s 41%. Notably, an undecided 13% of voters remain in play.
Public Opinion on Biden’s Presidency
The same survey showed only 37% support for Biden’s presidency, while a significant 58% expressed disapproval. This echoes an aggregate of recent polls aligning with these figures. Amidst this, both Biden and Trump have clinched enough delegates, solidifying their nominations for their respective parties.
Trump’s Lead with Additional Candidates
When respondents were asked about a race inclusive of independent and third-party candidates, Trump’s lead increased, gaining the support of 41% of registered voters versus Biden’s 35%.
The poll sheds a light not just on voter preferences, but also on deeper concerns about leadership.
More than half, 57%, expressed doubts about Biden’s age following the State of the Union, and 54% questioned his fitness for office. With the nation divided, 59% felt Biden’s speech did little to bridge the gap, with only 41% hopeful for unity.
Biden’s State of the Union and the Immigration Challenge
Your voice matters, and according to 61% of participants, immigration wasn’t adequately addressed by Biden. This sentiment erupted in the wake of a tragic event where Laken Riley, a university student, became the alleged victim of an undocumented immigrant—a topic only addressed by Biden when prompted by a congresswoman during his address.
The resulting conversation highlighted the ongoing challenges at the U.S. southern border, spotlighting the staggering number of illegal crossings and ‘gotaways’ under the current administration.

Amidst these discussions, Biden expressed regret over his initial word choice during the address, recognizing the contributions of immigrants with a nod to the foundation they’ve built in America.
With a margin of error at 2.2% and a sample of 2,017 registered voters, the HarrisX poll results speak volumes. As the country contemplates its future, these figures will surely influence the political landscape as we edge closer to the next presidential showdown.
Are these trends an early sign of 2024’s electoral outcome? Only time will tell.
