President pardons ‘Lady Trump’ Michele Fiore who faced century of jail time over fraud conviction
President Donald Trump pardoned former Las Vegas City Council member and gubernatorial candidate Michele Fiore after she was convicted in a charity fraud scheme.
Fiore, nicknamed “Lady Trump,” was convicted in October for using $70,000 she raised to build a memorial for two fallen police officers on personal expenses. The 54-year-old was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and six counts of wire fraud.
“Today, I stand before you — not just as a free woman, but as a vindicated soul whose prayers were heard, whose faith held firm, and whose truth could not be buried by injustice,” Fiore said in a statement. “I am deeply and eternally grateful to President Donald J. Trump for granting me a full and unconditional pardon. This act of mercy is not just a correction of a legal record — it is the restoration of a life, a reputation, and a mission long targeted for destruction.”
Trump granted clemency to Fiore on Wednesday. She dodges a sentence of up to 20 years in prison on each count, over a century of jail time. Her sentencing was scheduled for next month.
“The evidence at trial demonstrated that Fiore promised donors that ‘100% of the contributions’ would be used towards the construction of memorials for the fallen officers,” a Justice Department release said. “However, Fiore did not use any of the more than $70,000 in charitable donations she raised for the memorials. Instead, Fiore spent the money donated by the victims on a variety of personal and political expenses, including political fundraising bills, personal rent payments, and payments to family members.”
Fiore reportedly told a journalist who reached out to her to confirm the pardon, “Vanessa, you need to get on your knees, a little more girl.” It’s unknown what prompted the remark.
Democrats in the state were displeased with her pardon.

“Donald Trump’s blatant disregard for law enforcement is sickening, and pardoning someone who stole from a police memorial fund is a disgrace,” Democratic Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford posted on X. “As Nevada’s top cop, I believe there’s no room for reprieve when it comes to betraying the families of fallen officers. I will continue to stand with our men and women in uniform.”
Trump granted 144 pardons during his first term, and pardoned people like ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich in addition to Jan. 6 protesters in his second term.
