Presidential candidates reveal recent fundraising figures.

Presidential Candidates Release Fundraising Numbers for Second Quarter

Presidential candidates vying for the nation’s top office have recently unveiled their latest fundraising figures for the second quarter of the 2024 presidential campaign. The results show a clear frontrunner in the fundraising race.

President Joe Biden Leads the Pack

President Joe Biden (D) has emerged as the top fundraiser, surpassing all other candidates, including former President Trump (R). Biden’s campaign raised an impressive $27 million during this quarter, more than double the amount raised by Trump. This significant boost in funds brings Biden’s overall cash on-hand to an impressive $77 million, despite recent low polling numbers.

Around 400,000 donors contributed to Biden’s campaign, making a total of 670,000 donations across various entities, including the Democratic National Committee and joint fundraising committees. Notably, 30 percent of these donors had previously supported Biden during his 2020 presidential bid.

Campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez emphasized the strength of Biden’s grassroots supporters, stating, “While Republicans are burning through resources in a divisive primary focused on who can take the most extreme MAGA positions, we are significantly outraising every single one of them.”

Trump’s Impressive Fundraising Numbers

Former President Trump’s campaign also showcased strong fundraising efforts, outpacing his Republican opponents with a total of $35 million raised during the second quarter. This amount is double what his joint fundraising committee, consisting of his campaign and super PAC, collected in the first quarter.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Makes an Impact

Despite being just six weeks into his White House bid, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) managed to raise an impressive $20 million during the second quarter. Additionally, the super PAC supporting DeSantis, Never Back Down, has raised a staggering $130 million since its launch in March.

These fundraising numbers highlight the financial strength and support behind each candidate as they continue their journey along the 2024 presidential campaign trail.
