Prince Harry Reportedly Wanted To Interview Trump, Putin About Childhood Traumas For Spotify
Prince Harry’s Ambitious Podcast Pitch to Spotify
According to reports, Prince Harry had a bold vision for his Spotify podcast. He aimed to interview influential world leaders like former President Donald Trump and Russia President Vladimir Putin about their childhood traumas.
The Duke of Sussex pitched the streaming site with several show ideas that involved delving into the personal experiences of influential figures such as Trump, Putin, and Mark Zuckerberg. Bloomberg reported on this intriguing proposal.
Executives at Spotify were reportedly puzzled by Harry’s pitch. They found it “questionable” because individuals like Putin and Zuckerberg rarely open up about their upbringings and personal experiences in wide-ranging interviews.

But Harry didn’t stop there. He also pitched ideas for interviews with Pope Francis about religion, discussions on fatherhood, and conversations on climate change, as reported by the outlet.
Although none of Harry’s podcast ideas materialized, his wife Meghan Markle did produce one season of her podcast “Archetypes.” The show, produced by their company Archewell Audio, aired from August to November 2022. It aimed to investigate, dissect, and subvert the labels that hold women back.
Recently, Spotify and the royal couple announced their mutual decision to part ways. This came after the couple signed a $20 million agreement in 2020. According to Page Six, Meghan Markle, now working with talent agency WME, is developing more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.

Shortly after the news of the canceled podcast deal broke, Spotify executive Bill Simmons didn’t hold back his criticism of the Sussexes. He labeled them “f***ing grifters” and even teased a fascinating story about a Zoom call he had with Harry to help him with a podcast idea.
