Private Jet Passenger Killed in Severe Turbulence Over New England
One passenger died in a private plane after it encountered severe turbulence above New England.
On Friday, the Bombardier Challenger 300 aircraft was on its way from Keene (New Hampshire) to Leesburg (Virginia) when it encountered trouble. After being diverted to Bradley Airport, Windsor Locks in Connecticut, the aircraft landed safely there.
There were three people on board and two other crew.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), in a Saturday statement, stated that one of the victims had died.
Before it started to descend, the private plane was approximately at 26,000 feet. It was then diverted to Connecticut. online flight records show.
Sarah Sulick (NTSB spokesperson) said that NTSB investigators are currently interviewing crew members and survivors as part of an inquiry into the tragic encounter with turbulentence.
