Pro-DeSantis Super PAC Raises Massive $30 Million In Less Than 4 Weeks

A new pro-Ron DeSantis PAC, called Never Back Down, has raised an unprecedented $30 million in just under four weeks since it was founded on March 9. This amount was raised solely for a possible DeSantis’ presidential campaign and does not include funds from any other committees, including the $82 million raised by DeSantis’ state political committee. Approximately 50% of the donations came from out of state. As a federal super PAC, Never Back Down is allowed to raise an unlimited number of funds as it sees fit.

Never Back Down is headed by former Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II. Erin Perrine, formerly a press communications director for former President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign and now the communications director for Never Back Down, tweeted about the tremendous support that the movement to get DeSantis to run for president has been receiving. Jeff Roe, who was a crucial aide in the campaigns for Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Governor Glenn Youngkin from Virginia, has been appointed to Never Back Down.

Roe feels that DeSantis and Trump are the only viable presidential candidates for the Republican party and that there is no space for another candidate in this race.

Cuccinelli said in a statement after launching the Never Back Down PAC, “Grassroots conservatives see the Governor as a leader and a fighter with a winning conservative track record who will lead the Republican Party to victory in 2024. Based on those conversations, I am most confident that we will build an unmatched grassroots political army for Governor DeSantis to help carry him to the White House.” In the same statement, Cuccinelli expressed his belief that DeSantis stands up for American ideals such as freedom, parental rights, and the right to life. He has also conveyed his unwavering support to DeSantis if he decides to run.

Last week, Never Back Down released a video called “Waco Crickets,” which featured a clip from a rally where Trump criticized DeSantis for six minutes, and the crowd’s reaction was silent. Compared to how Trump’s audience usually responds, the lack of cheering for his mockery of DeSantis was strikingly noticeable.
