10th NTD International Classical Chinese Dance Competition now livestreaming!
NTD’s 10th International Classical Chinese Dance Competition is coming to The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College, in New York from Sept. 7 to Sept. 10.
Prepare to be amazed as over 100 leading classical Chinese dancers from around the world gather to showcase their extraordinary skills on the international stage. And the best part? You can witness the excitement firsthand! NTD and its sister media, The Epoch Times, will be livestreaming the semifinals, finals, and awards ceremony on NTD’s global television network, their websites, and social media platforms. Plus, the new digital platform Gan Jing World will also be livestreaming the event.
This classical Chinese dance competition is just one of the many international cultural and arts events hosted by NTD. Their mission is to promote traditional culture, which has sadly been eroded by the Chinese Communist Party over the past few decades.
Classical Chinese dance training encompasses three main components: bearing, form, and techniques. This expressive dance form is deeply rooted in 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and is considered one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.
NTD’s classical Chinese dance competition aims to usher in a new era for this ancient art form. By fostering cultural exchange, they hope to make this traditional Chinese culture renowned worldwide and promote purely authentic traditional dance that embodies purity, goodness, and beauty.
Witness the highest standard of dance form as the dancers showcase the forgotten ancient techniques of “shen dai shou” (the body leads the hands) and “kua dai tui” (the hips lead the legs). These techniques have been reintroduced to the world by Mr. D.F., the founder and artistic director of Shen Yun Performing Arts.
We invite you to join us and experience the highest realm of classical Chinese dance as we bring these lost ancient techniques back to life on stage.
