Protesters storm stage during DeSantis speech in New Hampshire
During the New Hampshire GOP’s largest annual fundraising gala, protesters rushed the stage while Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida was giving his address. The disruption happened within five minutes of his remarks. Two women held up signs and shouted “Jews against DeSantis” before being quickly removed from the stage.
Despite the disturbance, DeSantis found humor in the situation, stating, “You’ve gotta have a little spice in the speech.” The audience responded well to this comment.
The event, known as the 2023 Amos Tuck Dinner, was held before the New Hampshire State Republican Party. Before DeSantis addressed the crowd, demonstrators outside the complex displayed both MAGA and progressive signs.
The speech was attended by more than 500 people, including Republican state House Majority Leader Jason Osborne and former Massachusetts GOP Sen. Scott Brown. State Republican Chairman Chris Ager reports that the party raised around $380,000, which is the largest amount ever recorded for the state party.
