Two Suspected Purse Snatchers Charged After Series of Robberies
Two suspected purse snatchers were charged on August 18 after allegedly committing a series of robberies, including a shocking incident where an elderly woman was dragged across the pavement outside of a Bank of America in the Hacienda Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles County on August 14.
Cameron Deshan Perry and Russell Hardy Jr. are facing charges that include second-degree robbery, firstparking lot.”>-degree automated teller machine robbery, and attempted second-degree robbery.
Mr. Perry has also been charged with elder and dependent adult abuse for assaulting the 75-year-old woman in the bank parking lot.

According to authorities, the two men have been on a crime spree since May 30, stealing over $100,000 worth of belongings from various victims.
A video, shared on social media by former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, captured the horrifying moment when the elderly woman was dragged across the bank’s parking lot at Azusa Avenue and Pepper Brook Way by the thief on August 14.
“The brutality and heartlessness of the perpetrator in the video is shocking,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn. “I spoke with Sheriff Robert Luna this morning and am confident that he and his department are doing everything they can to bring this person into custody.”
The woman was leaving the bank when a man ran up and snatched her purse from her shoulder. Despite her initial resistance, she was dragged several feet until she let go.
“Property can be replaced, but the life of someone is most important to us,” emphasized Deputy Miguel Meza with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “If you find yourself in a situation where someone is trying to steal from you, it’s best to prioritize your safety and let them have it. We don’t want you to get physically hurt.”
The video shows two men chasing after the assailant, but he managed to escape.
There have been no updates on the woman’s condition, but she was seen in the video.
