Ramaswamy pushes back on Harris’s abortion claims – Washington Examiner
Vivek Ramaswamy, a billionaire and former presidential candidate, has called for an unbiased approach to fact-checking political claims, emphasizing the need for equal scrutiny regardless of party affiliation. In a discussion, he specifically challenged Vice President Kamala Harris’ assertion that women are ”bleeding out in parking lots” due to abortion restrictions, arguing that there is no evidence to support such claims. Ramaswamy highlighted his own observations in Springfield, Ohio, regarding reports of Haitian migrants eating pets, stating that while he had not witnessed this himself, town residents had mentioned it. He stressed that the same standard of evidence should apply when addressing controversial claims in political debates, indicating a desire to maintain focus on substantive policy discussions. Ramaswamy also expressed concern over rising racial tensions, attributing them partly to policies that foster a heightened racial consciousness by redistributing resources based on race. Additionally, he promoted his new book, “Truths.”
Ramaswamy pushes back on Harris’s abortion claims in call for unbiased fact-checking
Billionaire and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy argued that fact-checking should be done evenly among political candidates.
Ramaswamy noted the need to debate controversial topics but said claims must be fact-checked regardless of a candidate’s political party. He referenced Vice President Kamala Harris repeatedly claiming that women are “bleeding out in parking lots” due to abortion restrictions, and he said that “there’s no evidence” of this ever happening.
Women are bleeding out in parking lots, turned away from emergency rooms, losing their ability to ever have children again.
Survivors of rape and incest are being told they cannot make decisions about what happens next to their bodies.
And now women are dying. These are the…

CNN anchor Kasie Hunt asked Ramaswamy if he had seen any Haitian migrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio, a report that former President Donald Trump has shared. Ramaswamy responded that he had visited Springfield himself, and while he did not find any evidence supporting these claims, he had been told by several town residents that this was happening.
“There isn’t even that level of a shred of evidence to support a single woman in the United States bleeding out in a parking lot, yet that‘s been a repeated claim made by Kamala Harris,” Ramaswamy said while appearing on CNN This Morning. “So, I think when we‘re getting into fact-checking, I think we should apply the same standards 360 degrees, and I think we should not use Kamala Harris’s quote there to sidestep a debate about abortion policy, just as we shouldn‘t use some other quote as an excuse to sidestep a debate about immigration policy.”
Ramaswamy also said he was concerned about growing racial tensions toward minorities and argued that a big contributor to these tensions is the “anti-racial policies” that have increased “race consciousness.” The billionaire explained that taking something of value from one group of people and giving it to others based on race is one of these major contributors.
The former presidential candidate also promoted his new book, Truths, in his appearance, during which he expressed a desire to revive the U.S. that he grew up in for the current generation. He argued that “the beauty of America” is in how its residents can greatly disagree on things while still coming together “at the dinner table” and that his desire to bring back this U.S. was “a core motive” for writing the book.
My new book TRUTHS is out today. The goal is to arm everyday Americans with rigorous arguments to engage with those who disagree with us on the most controversial topics of our day. That’s how we win. Launching at #2 on Amazon already, send it to #1. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/6sWLRRORk3 pic.twitter.com/KrlhEFUv52

Ramaswamy also noted in a post on X that his goal with the book is to engage people in debate on difficult topics. As of Tuesday, the book’s release date, Truths is No. 3 on Amazon’s bestselling books list.
