Ramaswamy pledges to halt birthright citizenship for undocumented immigrants and their kids.
Entrepreneur and Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy
Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur and Republican presidential hopeful, made a bold promise on Wednesday. If elected president, he vowed to put an end to birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants and their children.
During an interview with the crew of Timcast IRL, Ramaswamy passionately stated, “I would end birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants and the children of illegal immigrants. What does it mean for everybody else? I mean, we’re all citizens, whether sixth-generation or first-generation in my case.”

Ramaswamy firmly believes that if an individual enters the United States illegally and has a child, it creates an unfair situation for law-abiding citizens. When asked about deporting infants, he clarified that the entire family would be deported as a unit.
“You take the whole family unit,” Ramaswamy explained. “I’m strongly opposed to policies that would separate kids from their parents. I think that was discussed even in the Trump administration as a tactic for deterring people from coming.”
As a pro-family leader, Ramaswamy emphasized that he would not adopt such a policy. However, he firmly believes that those who entered the country illegally should be sent back to their country of origin. He advocates for them to return through legal means, just like anyone else seeking entry into the United States.
