Sen. Rand Paul Calls for Dr. Fauci to Face Prison Time for COVID-19 Handling
In a fiery interview on WABC 770 AM’s The Cats Roundtable, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) expressed his strong belief that Dr. Anthony Fauci should be held accountable for his actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Paul, a former ophthalmologist, accused Fauci of dishonesty and called for him to be sent to prison.
“For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison. Do you think the scientific knowledge that was gained from this research was worth the deaths of 20 million people?”
Paul’s criticism of Fauci stems from their disagreements on the origins of the virus and Fauci’s transparency with Congress. The senator believes that Fauci’s mistakes and lack of accountability make him unfit for his role as the nation’s chief medical adviser.
“If you lie to Congress, and you’re dishonest, and you won’t accept responsibility. For his mistake in judgment, he should just be pilloried. He should never be accepted.”
Paul went on to state that history should remember Fauci as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history. The senator has been a vocal critic of Fauci’s leadership throughout the pandemic.
Last year, Paul made a criminal referral to the Justice Department against Fauci for allegedly lying under oath about the funding of “gain-of-function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. However, the DOJ has yet to take action on these charges.
Despite the ongoing feud between Paul and Fauci, the nation continues to grapple with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
