Rand Paul tweets Manhattan DA
Senator Rand Paul has tweeted that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg “should be put in jail”. This follows the possibility that former President Donald Trump could be indicted on Tuesday due to payments made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Manhattan Criminal Court has already set up barricades outside the perimeters to deter protestors. However, the district attorney’s office declined to comment on Trump’s claims of being arrested and called for his supporters to protest. Other GOP officials like former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke out against the investigation and a possible indictment.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Trump had not been formally indicted by Bragg’s office. Instead, on Monday, he posted on Truth Social that the Manhattan DA should be detained instead of him, accusing Bragg of breaking the law for interfering with the 2020 presidential election.
