Ne-Yo criticizes parents allowing gender changes: ‘Lost sight of parental role’

Rapper ⁣Ne-Yo Calls Out Parents⁤ for Letting Children Choose Their Gender

Rapper Ne-Yo recently made headlines when he expressed his concerns about parents allowing their children to choose their own gender. During ⁤an interview on ‌VladTV with Gloria Velez, the musician shared his⁣ thoughts⁢ on transgenderism.

Ne-Yo⁤ believes that many parents⁤ have lost sight of their role as parents. He questions the idea of ‍letting a young child make such a significant decision about their identity. He asks, “If your little boy comes to⁤ you and says, ‘Daddy, I ⁣want‍ to be a girl,’ and you⁢ just let‌ him rock with ⁤that? You just let him, he’s five.”

The rapper ⁢goes on to highlight the absurdity of allowing a child to make life-changing decisions at such a young age. He compares ⁤it to letting a child eat candy all day if they desire. He questions when it became acceptable to let a ⁣five-year-old, a six-year-old, or even a‌ 12-year-old make decisions that will ⁤shape their entire lives.

Ne-Yo also points⁣ out⁢ the contradiction⁢ of a child ⁣not being old enough to drive‍ a car but being allowed to decide their gender. He suggests that⁣ parents should engage in a‍ conversation with their child if ⁢they express⁢ a desire to change their gender. He advises asking ‍the child what being a girl means ‌to them and encourages parents to support their child’s interests without⁤ compromising their biological identity.

The rapper emphasizes that he has no issue with⁤ the LGBTQ+ community but comes from⁣ a⁣ time‌ when there were only two genders. He acknowledges that people ‌can identify however they choose, but he believes it becomes a problem⁢ when others are forced to play‍ along. He concludes ‍by stating, “We live in a weird time, ‌man.”
