Ne-Yo criticizes parents allowing gender changes: ‘Lost sight of parental role’
Rapper Ne-Yo Calls Out Parents for Letting Children Choose Their Gender
Rapper Ne-Yo recently made headlines when he expressed his concerns about parents allowing their children to choose their own gender. During an interview on VladTV with Gloria Velez, the musician shared his thoughts on transgenderism.
Ne-Yo believes that many parents have lost sight of their role as parents. He questions the idea of letting a young child make such a significant decision about their identity. He asks, “If your little boy comes to you and says, ‘Daddy, I want to be a girl,’ and you just let him rock with that? You just let him, he’s five.”
The rapper goes on to highlight the absurdity of allowing a child to make life-changing decisions at such a young age. He compares it to letting a child eat candy all day if they desire. He questions when it became acceptable to let a five-year-old, a six-year-old, or even a 12-year-old make decisions that will shape their entire lives.
Ne-Yo also points out the contradiction of a child not being old enough to drive a car but being allowed to decide their gender. He suggests that parents should engage in a conversation with their child if they express a desire to change their gender. He advises asking the child what being a girl means to them and encourages parents to support their child’s interests without compromising their biological identity.
The rapper emphasizes that he has no issue with the LGBTQ+ community but comes from a time when there were only two genders. He acknowledges that people can identify however they choose, but he believes it becomes a problem when others are forced to play along. He concludes by stating, “We live in a weird time, man.”
Ne-Yo blasts parents who let their children believe that they can pick whatever gender they want to be: “I feel like the parents have almost forgotten what the role of a parent is.
