Rapper Ne-Yo stands firm on trans comments despite criticism: ‘My feelings are my own.’
Rapper Ne-Yo Stands by Controversial Comments on Gender Identity
Rapper Ne-Yo has sparked a heated debate with his recent comments on parents allowing their children to change their genders. In a social media post, he reiterated his stance, emphasizing that it is his personal opinion and that others are free to disagree.
“1st and foremost, I CONDEMN NO ONE,” he wrote on Instagram. “Who am I to condemn anybody? Your life, your kids, your choice. I was asked a question and I answered it. My opinion is mine. I’m not asking anybody to agree with me nor am I telling you what you can and cannot do with your children. I stated my opinion on a matter and that’s that.”
Ne-Yo further expressed his belief that opinions are not inherently special and that everyone is entitled to their own. He highlighted the importance of agreeing to disagree without it turning into a conflict. Despite differing ideals, he emphasized his love for everyone.
Controversial Remarks and Outrage
Ne-Yo initially made these remarks during an appearance on VladTV with Gloria Velez, which sparked outrage among some left-wing individuals. When asked about transgenderism, he criticized parents for allowing young children to make life-changing decisions about their gender identity.
He questioned the role of parents, stating, “Parents have almost forgotten what the role of a parent is. It’s like, okay, if your little boy comes to you and says, ‘Daddy, I want to be a girl.’ And you just let him rock with that? You just let — he’s five.”
Ne-Yo further argued against the idea of young children making such significant choices, comparing it to allowing a child to eat candy all day. He questioned the logic of letting a child decide their sex when they are not yet capable of driving a car.
Instead, he suggested that parents engage in a conversation with their child, asking them what being a girl means to them. Ne-Yo emphasized that he has no issue with the LGBTQ+ community but comes from a different era where there were only two genders.
Ne-Yo blasts parents who let their children believe that they can pick whatever gender they want to be: “I feel like the parents have almost forgotten what the role of a parent is.
