Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) is taking a stand against Rep. Rashida Tlaib, proposing a resolution to censure her for her “anti-Semitic activity” and support of an Islamic terrorist group.
MTG’s resolution, set to be presented on Tuesday, accuses Tlaib (D-MI) of “antisemitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations, and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex” in reference to the recent protest that resulted in the arrest of hundreds of insurrectionists.
“The [Democratic] Party has done nothing to hold her accountable. They’ve done nothing to rein her in, and no one else here has done it. And so I thought it was right to list examples of — this isn’t just new. This isn’t a one-off thing. This is exactly who she is,” MTG told reporters.
Tlaib had addressed a gathering at a large protest rally organized by the movement.
Greene told the press, “I think we will have every single Republican vote with us for this central resolution.”
Social media users also expressed their opinions on the anti-Zionism protest at the U.S. Capitol on X (Twitter).
“These are the kind of people who refer to Jew-hating Islamic terrorists as ‘freedom fighters’ who are angered by Israel fighting back after Hamas started the war first, you can’t reason with them,” one X (Twitter) user wrote.
In the censure resolution, MTG highlights several examples, including Tlaib’s 2019 comment about the Holocaust giving her a “calming feeling.”
“There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land, and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” she said on a podcast episode. “And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, and it was forced on them.”
MTG also points out Tlaib’s comments following Hamas’s recent strike on Israel.
“The path to the future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance,” MTG said.
Additionally, Greene is demanding an inquiry into last week’s demonstration at the Capitol.
“It should [have] a House Ethics investigation. [The House Administration Committee] should be investigating it. I think the Department of Justice, FBI should be investigating, even possibly the CIA.”

What is the Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s proposed resolution aiming to do?
Title: Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Proposes Resolution to Censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib for Alleged Anti-Semitic Activity
Introduction:
In a move to hold Rep. Rashida Tlaib accountable for what she considers “anti-Semitic activity” and support for an Islamic terrorist group, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) has proposed a resolution to censure her. This action comes in response to Tlaib’s alleged sympathizing with terrorist organizations and participation in the insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex. The resolution, set to be presented on Tuesday, outlines various examples to support the accusations made against Tlaib.
The Resolution:
MTG’s resolution accuses Tlaib, a Democratic representative from Michigan, of engaging in “anti-Semitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations, and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex.” The reference to the recent protest that led to the arrest of hundreds of insurrectionists serves as evidence for these claims. MTG asserts that the Democratic Party has failed to hold Tlaib accountable for her actions and aims to bring attention to her alleged pattern of behavior.
MTG’s Statements:
In speaking to reporters, MTG stated that the Democratic Party has done nothing to rein in Tlaib’s behavior, and no one else in Congress has taken any action. She expressed the belief that every single Republican representative would vote in support of the resolution. MTG’s strong stance highlights her dedication to addressing what she sees as a disregard for accountability within the Democratic Party.
Public Opinion:
Social media users have also weighed in on the anti-Zionism protest at the U.S. Capitol. Numerous opinions were expressed on Twitter, highlighting the divisive nature of the issue. One user criticized individuals who refer to Jew-hating Islamic terrorists as ”freedom fighters” and argued that reasoning with such individuals is futile. This further emphasizes the polarizing nature of the issue at hand.
Examples of Controversial Statements:
MTG’s resolution highlights several controversial statements made by Tlaib, including her 2019 comment about feeling a “calming feeling” when thinking about the Holocaust. Tlaib explained that she meant to highlight the suffering of her own Palestinian ancestors who were displaced and lost their human rights during the creation of Israel. MTG also cites Tlaib’s comments following Hamas’s recent strike on Israel, proposing actions such as lifting the blockade and dismantling the alleged “apartheid system.”
Conclusion:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s proposal to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib reflects her belief that Tlaib’s alleged anti-Semitic activity and support for a terrorist group necessitate accountability. As the resolution is presented, both its supporters and detractors will undoubtedly engage in a heated debate surrounding the actions and statements of these two congresswomen. Time will tell whether this proposed resolution gains the necessary support to move forward.
