Ray Epps claims Tucker Carlson is fixated on him, but he’s not the real culprit behind the Capitol riot. According to Epps, GOP lawmakers had a much greater influence on the chaos.
Ray Epps, the man accused by many of being involved with federal law enforcement during the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, has been making headlines lately. In a recent interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” Epps spoke out against Fox News host Tucker Carlson, claiming that he was “obsessed” with him and trying to ruin his life.
Despite the controversy surrounding him, Epps expressed remorse for his actions on January 6, saying that it brings back bad memories and that it’s hard to see the Capitol under attack. However, he also defended himself against accusations that he was directed by anyone from the federal government, including the FBI.
During the interview, Epps also addressed a text message he sent to his nephew immediately after the riot in which he claimed that he “orchestrated it.” He explained that he was boasting to his nephew and that he shouldn’t have used that word.
Despite his explanations, conservative media and Republican lawmakers have called into question Epps’ role in the riot. Epps believes that this is an attempt to shift blame onto him and away from those who really instigated the rioters on January 6.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Ray Epps, but one thing is for sure: he’s not going down without a fight.
