A Republican representative has called on the GOP party to take action. According to Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), Republicans need to elect people that do what they say they’re going to do.
“If we want to get independents, moderates, even a few Democrats to come and be with us and join us in the midterms and vote for our candidate nominee in 2024, then we have to have an agenda of solutions,” said the Republican.
She said currently people, even Democrats, are shocked by the turn they’re seeing with how Joe Biden has chosen to govern the country.
“Many Democrats voted for Biden, believed he was going to be a very moderate milk toast, vanilla Joe, right? He has not been that. He’s socialist Joe now,” said Mace.
She added how some wealthy politicians have no idea how hard it is for the rest of the country to work.
“We need to have the voice of Americans who put their hands to work and understand the value of work, understand what it’s like to pay those taxes on a limited income, and most of them don’t.”
I was one of just over 200 Members of Congress who traveled here today to vote on the debt ceiling. There are 435 of us. I was elected to serve and represent you, not to phone it in. It’s time to hold Washington accountable and stop kicking this can down the road. pic.twitter.com/Qau2iecRUc

Meanwhile, Mace said she believes having an agenda, including long-term planning, would allow people to see the party in a different light.
“What solutions do we have to bring to the table? To get people to realize that our decisions, that our policies, our ideas are responsible, they’re fiscally conservative, and they’re ideas that every hardworking American can love and respect,” suggested Mace.
