Rep. Greene mulls Senate bid: Undecided yet.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Considering Higher Office, Including Senate Run or Vice Presidential Bid
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has expressed her aspirations to seek a higher office in the future, potentially running for the Senate or serving as a running mate under President Donald Trump.
“I haven’t made up my mind whether I will do that or not. I have a lot of things to think about,” Ms. Greene told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution during an Aug. 16 interview.
If she were to run for the Senate, Ms. Greene would likely face incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), whose term ends in 2027.

Ms. Greene is known as one of President Trump’s strongest allies in the Senate. She supported a resolution, along with House Republican conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), to expunge Democrats’ first impeachment of the former president.
President Trump has shown his support for Ms. Greene’s political ambitions. During a rally in Texas, he publicly asked her, “Would you like to run for the Senate? I will fight like hell for you, I tell you.”
Ms. Greene expressed her gratitude for President Trump’s support, stating, “It was so nice of him to say.” She also mentioned the possibility of serving as a running mate or cabinet member under President Trump.
“Am I going to be a part of President Trump’s Cabinet if he wins? Is it possible that I’ll be VP?” she said, considering such offers ”very, very heavily.”
Ms. Greene’s home state of Georgia had a close margin in favor of President Joe Biden in 2020, raising uncertainty about the state’s political leaning. It remains unclear whether Ms. Greene, who aligns further to the right among her House colleagues, could secure the Senate seat in a statewide race.
The Trump campaign has not yet responded to inquiries regarding Ms. Greene’s potential consideration as President Trump’s running mate.
