House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has been asked to remove two members of the House from the GOP Conference.

A group of more than 40 conservative figures sent a letter to McCarthy on Wednesday, asking him to drop Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.). The group cited the pair’s “egregious actions as part of the House of Representative’s Jan. 6 Select Committee.”

They claimed that by going along with Democrats, the representatives are giving supposed bipartisan justification on the partisan panel. The letter finished by acknowledging that Cheney and Kinzinger were duly elected and should be allowed to serve, just not with the privileges of the conference they actively seek to undermine.

“As you are aware, this committee has no formal representation from Republicans. Both Reps. Cheney and Kinzinger serve at the request of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.),” the lawmakers wrote.

However, this is not the first time GOP lawmakers have voiced their concern. Back in early September, Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) sent a letter calling on McCarthy to remove the two from the GOP Conference for their roles on the select committee.
