Report: 10 More People On Terror Watchlist Have Been Arrested At The Border
Border Patrol arrested another 10 individuals on the terror watchlist at the southern border in July, bringing the total so far for Fiscal Year 2022 to 66.
A new report that details actions taken by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the current year points to over 1.8 million total encounters at the border.
That number is almost four times the average of encounters that took place during the four years of the Trump presidency, is an increase from the Fiscal Year 2021 which saw over 1.6 million encounters, and thoroughly squashes White House messaging that the border crisis is a predictable, seasonal ebb and flow.
The CBP report states that the department’s “top priority” is “to keep terrorists and their weapons from entering the United States.”
NEW: CBP reports 10 people on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) were arrested by Border Patrol at Southern border in July.
There have now been 66 TSDB hits so far in FY’22.
That’s more than double the previous 5 years combined.

56 people on the terror watchlist had previously been reported as being apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry from October to June.
The number is now up to 66, according to the CBP, meaning another 10 individuals were taken into custody for the month of July alone.
That equates to more in one month than had been apprehended in the final two years of the Trump administration … combined (6).

“Encounters of watchlisted individuals at our borders are very uncommon, underscoring the critical work CBP Agents and Officers carry out every day on the frontlines,” the CBP report reads.
But they were far more uncommon under Trump (FY 17-2, FY 18-6, FY 19-3, FY 20-3) than they are under Biden (FY 21-16, FY 22-66).
And the trend shows sharply rising numbers of terror watchlist apprehensions at the border.
Couple that data with the nearly 800,000 ‘got aways‘ that various reports have noted escaped into the U.S. undetected and one has to wonder how many on the terror watchlist were successful at getting through the border.
Border Patrol stopped 23 people on the terror database at the Southern Border in 2021.
Imagine how many they DIDN’T stop.

Watch: Over a Dozen Illegal Immigrants Bail Out of a SUV as Law Enforcement Are in Hot Pursuit
Apprehensions of individuals on the terror watchlist come as shocking videos are surfacing from the border showing how out of control the situation has become.
Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin posted a video Tuesday showing well over a dozen illegal immigrants bailing out of a moving SUV as Texas DPS troopers are in pursuit.
NEW: More than 20 illegal immigrants bail out of a human smuggler’s vehicle and run off into the brush as a @TxDPS trooper pursues the smuggler in Laredo, TX. The pursuit later ended in a residential neighborhood, where the smuggler also bailed out & was arrested. @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/W6U0oGXrLZ

Melugin captured videos earlier this week showing upwards of 700 illegal immigrants, most of whom appear to be single, able-bodied adults, crossing the border from Mexico into Eagle Pass, Texas in a single day.
NEW: We’ve already witnessed 500+ migrants cross illegally into Eagle Pass, TX this morning alone, including this huge single group of 290. You’ll see part of the group walk to the edge of a local highway before being stopped by TX DPS troopers. Almost all single adults. @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/O5ySjZqYD3

Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently claimed that the border “is secure.”
“Look, the border is secure,” he insisted. “We are working to make the border more secure. That has been a historic challenge.”
Arresting double-digit totals of people on the terror watchlist seems to suggest that the efforts of DHS are being swallowed up by overwhelming numbers of illegal immigrants flowing over the border.
They can’t keep up. And some very bad actors are taking advantage of the weakness.
