Report: Biden Admin Spent $1.6 Million To Down Harmless Flying Objects
The Biden administration spent over $1.6 million to shoot down three unidentified flying objects, which the White House acknowledged were likely private research or recreation devices.
Four AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles cost $400,000 each were fired by U.S. fighter planes to eliminate unknown objects in Alaska, Northern Canada and Lake Huron earlier in the month. This does not include the cost for the flights, or the Navy, Coast Guard and National Guard deployments that searched in search of remnants. New York Post reported.

Last week, President Joe Biden declared that all three of the objects had been destroyed. “are most likely balloons tied to private companies, recreational or research institutions, studying weather or conducting other scientific research.”
In recent weeks, reports circulated about possible identities for the devices that were destroyed. An Illinois hobby group Lost A ham radio balloon was last seen near the Alaska coast. It is not known if that was the downed device. Due to difficulties in retrieving the debris, U.S. officials called off searches on February 17th.
These three devices were seen in U.S. Airspace one week after the Biden administration had allowed a Chinese spy ball to cross the continent of the United States. It also passed over nuclear sites. On February 4, the balloon was finally shot down off South Carolina by a fighter plane.
Biden said that sensitive radars are the reason why the military sees more flying objects. “keep adapting our approach to dealing with these challenges.”
