Biden’s DHS working with Mexican law enforcement to coordinate illegal migration, says report.
Border Patrol and Mexican Officials Partner to Facilitate Illegal Immigration
Reports suggest that the U.S. Border Patrol has teamed up with Mexican immigration officials to manage the orderly migration of hundreds of illegal immigrants into the United States. Mexican law enforcement has revealed that border agents are using encrypted messaging platforms to communicate with their Mexican counterparts to establish a “controlled-flow” system that prevents Border Patrol processing centers from being overwhelmed.
Unusual and Drastic Measures
The Department of Homeland Security’s border operations are being overrun as Title 42, a health policy introduced during the Trump administration, has expired. To tackle the historic surge in migration, the Biden administration has resorted to unusual and drastic measures, including the controlled-flow system.
The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has reported that the controlled-flow system constitutes a highly unusual U.S. policy that demonstrates formal acquiescence to illegal immigration and an official willingness to accommodate mass illegal immigration rather than stopping, blocking, or deterring it, as required by law.
Conflict Between Federal Law Enforcement and Texas Tactical Border Force
The controlled-flow system has led to some conflict between federal law enforcement and the Texas Tactical Border Force, a special border response team of national guardsmen authorized by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, according to CIS’s Todd Bensman.
Abbott’s office has accused the Biden administration of laying out a “welcome mat” for illegal immigrants and actively undermining the Border Patrol’s ability to act as law enforcement to secure the border. The parole program, which authorizes the mass release of migrants into the U.S. interior without a court date or tracking device, has been frozen by a federal judge despite DHS protests that blocking the program would lead to “catastrophic” consequences at border facilities.
Resurrecting Trump-Era Policy
The Biden administration has resurrected a Trump-era policy restricting asylum applications. The rule blocks migrants from applying for asylum in the United States if they failed to apply for asylum in countries they passed through on their way to the U.S., such as Mexico.
