Report: Britain to Designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as Terrorist Group
(Reuters)—Britain will officially declare Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, which has arrested seven people with links to the United Kingdom over anti-government protests, as a terrorist group, the Telegraph reported on Monday, citing sources.
According to the report, Britain’s security minister Tom Tugendhat and Home Secretary Suella Brverman support this move.
It would be illegal to be part of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, attend its meetings and display its logo publically if it was declared a terrorist organization.
The UK Home Office did no immediate response to a request for comment regarding the Telegraph report.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards arrested seven people linked to Britain in anti-government protests.
