Report: Chiefs Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill To Dolphins In Blockbuster Trade
The Kansas City Chiefs no longer have the league’s most dangerous deep-threat weapon.
On Wednesday, Kansas City traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks, including a first and second round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Adam Schefter also reported that Hill will receive a four-year, $120 million contract extension from Miami, with $72.2 million in guaranteed money. The deal makes him the highest paid wide receiver in NFL history, according to Schefter.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Wednesday morning that contract extension talks between Hill and the Chiefs had stalled, opening the door for a blockbuster trade.
Another blockbuster coming? Despite an offer from the #Chiefs that would make superstar Tyreek Hill one of the highest-paid receivers, extension talks have stalled and Kansas City has now given Hill’s agent permission to seek a trade, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

The New York Jets were reportedly the other team in on the Hill sweepstakes, offering multiple draft picks, but not putting either one of their 2022 first round picks into the offer.
Hill is a six-time Pro Bowl selection, and a three time All-Pro, winning the 2020 Super Bowl with Chiefs. In his six seasons in Kansas City, Hill caught 479 passes for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns. He is the game’s most explosive player and will now be paired next to Dolphins 2021 first round draft pick, Jaylen Waddle. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is entering his third year in the league.
It’s been a wild offseason for the Dolphins, who fired head coach Brian Flores after back-to-back winning seasons. It was the first back-to-back winning seasons for the organization since the 2003 season.
In February, Flores sued the NFL and several teams, naming the Denver Broncos, the New York Giants, and the Dolphins, for racial discrimination in the NFL’s hiring process.
In a class-action suit filed in Manhattan federal court, Flores made the claim that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross pressured Flores to “tank” during the 2019 season, to the point that Ross offered Flores $100,000 for each loss during the season. He also claims that “Mr. Ross began to pressure Mr. Flores to recruit a prominent quarterback in violation of League tampering rules” at the end of the 2019 season.
Flores claims that as a result of refusing to recruit the quarterback, he was “treated with disdain and held out as someone who was noncompliant and difficult to work with.” The suit alleges that the Dolphins labeled Flores as “difficult to work with” through the media.
Ross has denied the claims, saying that the allegations are “false, malicious and defamatory.”
“With regards to the allegations being made by Brian Flores, I am a man of honor and integrity and cannot let them stand without responding,” Ross said in a statement. “I take great personal exception to these malicious attacks, and the truth must be known. His allegations are false, malicious and defamatory.”
“We understand there are media reports stating the NFL intends to investigate his claims, and we will cooperate fully,” Ross continued. “I welcome the investigation and I am eager to defend my personal integrity, and the integrity of the entire Miami Dolphins organization, from these baseless, unfair and disparaging claims.”
