Report: Kanye West Bowed Out Of Coachella, Told Kim He’s ‘Going Away To Get Help’

Kanye West is not going to be performing at the music festival Coachella later this month according to a report saying that he’s told his ex-Kim Kardashian that he was “going away to get help.”

The 44-year-old rapper was previously scheduled to headline the final night of two-weekend festival in the California desert in Indio, which takes place April 15-17 and April 22-24, reported TMZ in a piece published Monday.

It is unclear at this point why Ye has backed out of performing at the show, but a source confirmed to Variety magazine that the “Eazy” hitmaker is out. The outlet noted that representatives for the rapper and music festival did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Sources with knowledge of what’s happing in the Kardashian family said the “Heartless” hitmaker has informed his ex-wife that he was “going away to get help” following his numerous posts on social media and videos about her relationship with “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson, reported Page Six.

“For the sake of the kids, Kanye has told Kim he’s not making any public appearances or inflammatory social media statements, and he will go away somewhere to get better,” a source familiar with the family shared.

A rep for West did not confirm what this exactly meant, but told the outlet that “at this time, Ye is committed to a healthy co-parenting relationship with Kim and is focused on raising their beautiful children.”

As previously reported by the Daily Wire, the superstar rapper was suspended from Instagram for 24 hours after he made a racial slur against “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah after the host reportedly commented on the former couple’s very public split.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed Wednesday night that the account @kanyewest, which boasts 15.6 million followers, was temporarily deleted for “violating policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment.” He is unable to post, comment or send DMs for 24 hours. The company confirmed they will take additional steps if Ye continues to violate the platform’s rules.

The situation began when the “Donda” rapper allegedly posted a photo of comedian Trevor Noah along with a caption that used racial slurs. Page Six said the caption replaced the lyrics to “Kumbaya” with, “All in together now… K*** baya my lord k*** baya K*** baya my lord K*** baya Oooo’ lord K*** baya.”

It also resulted in West’s performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards being pulled, reported Variety.

Kanye West has been barred from performing at the Grammy Awards due to his “concerning online behavior,” a rep for the artist confirms to Variety. Reps for the Recording Academy and CBS, which present the Grammys, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

West’s rep cited a report in the Blast posted late Friday claiming that the artist’s team received a phone call Friday night informing him he had been “unfortunately” removed from the lineup of performers for the show due to his “concerning online behavior.” While West, who is up for five 2022 Grammy Awards, was not among the first list of performers announced on Tuesday, he may have been a planned performer. A rep for West sent Variety a link to that story, saying only “This is confirmed”; the rep did not respond to requests for further information, although the Blast report states, “Our sources say Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision.”

Davidson is currently dating the rapper’s s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Davidson and the rapper have had a very public fight on social media lately about “The Kardashians” star moving on with the “SNL” star.

The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star filed for divorce from West after nearly 7 years of marriage in February of 2021. A judge in March, declared the two officially single. Kim and Ye share four children together.
