Gavin Newsom criticizes DeSantis, declares Biden victorious in GOP debate.
SIMI VALLEY, California — Governor Gavin Newsom Takes on Governor Ron DeSantis and Defends President Joe Biden
In the exciting spin room moments before the second Republican primary debate, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) didn’t hold back in trashing his top Republican critic, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), while passionately defending President Joe Biden.
Newsom’s Bold Predictions for the Debate Winners
When asked about his predictions for the winners of the debate, Newsom confidently named two candidates who won’t even be present at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library where the debate is being held.
“Look, clearly Joe Biden walks away with this debate and then Donald Trump,” Newsom declared. “I mean, it’s just the JV team. These guys are maybe running for vice president. I said it because I’m a big NFL fan. This is the XFL.”
While former President Donald Trump chose to address striking United Auto Workers in Michigan instead of attending the debate, Biden made a powerful statement by joining the picket line with UAW members on Tuesday.
Newsom himself will soon face off against DeSantis in their own highly anticipated debate on November 30th in Georgia, with Fox News’s Sean Hannity hosting the 90-minute showdown.
During his pre-debate spin room appearance, Newsom didn’t miss the opportunity to once again slam DeSantis.
“I don’t know why he’s debating a governor of California. I mean, again, that is so disqualifying on his behalf,” Newsom criticized DeSantis’s decision to debate with him. “He put out an ad today, not about his debate for president [but] an ad about debating me. This guy is so off the ball that it really makes you wonder.”
