Pennsylvania Republican Kathy Barnette has launched her Senate bid in what’s shaping up to be a crowded field on both sides. She announced her candidacy in a Twitter video Tuesday.
I’m Kathy Barnette and I’m running to become the first Black Republican Woman elected to the US Senate. I’ll be the voice we need to defend our rights.
And by the way, Joe, just because I believe in competent leadership doesn’t mean “I ain’t Black!” https://t.co/hSI2PTIt1w pic.twitter.com/wHT76sVT79

Barnette said she’s running to be the first black Republican woman elected to the U.S. Senate while taking a swipe at Joe Biden. She referenced a comment Biden made on the campaign trail in which he told African American voters they weren’t black if they voted for President Trump.
The GOP candidate spoke directly to Biden in her message while making it clear what she intends to bring to the upcoming race. Barnette went on to say she will fight against cancel culture and conservative censorship.
