Republicans Push Biden Admin to Reimburse Texas For State’s Border Enforcement

House Republicans are asking for Texas to be reimbursed by the federal government for its efforts in stemming illegal immigration. The Biden administration left it up to border states to pay the bill.
The Lone Star Reimbursement Act Introduction By Rep. Pat Fallon (R. Texas), would draw “$4.4 billion from the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security for FY 2024 for the state of Texas,” Fox News reported. The state would use the funds to cover Operation Lone Star’s costs. This is an independent effort to combat border crises that Republicans attribute to President Joe Biden’s failed immigration policies.
