Reuters did not report that Joe Biden’s July 14 address would be pre-recorded
The post shared on X claimed that Reuters reported President Joe Biden’s July 14 address would be pre-taped. However, the White House denied this claim. In reality, Biden addressed the nation live from the Oval Office on July 14, calling for unity and condemning political violence following an attempted assassination on former President Donald Trump. Social media users spread misinformation about the address being pre-taped, but there is no evidence to support this claim. This post was deemed misleading.

It does not appear that Reuters reported that claim. The claim the address would be pre-taped was denied by the White House.
Fact Check:
Biden addressed the nation from the Oval Office on July 14, the day after a gunman attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump, according to The New York Times. Biden called for Americans to reject political violence and “lower the temperature,” the outlet reported.
