RFK Jr. denies rumors of being Trump’s running mate in 2024.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Denies Running with Trump in 2024
Setting the Record Straight
Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has recently been the subject of speculation that he could become former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election. However, Kennedy took to Twitter to quell any rumors, stating that he would “UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES” join Trump on an electoral ticket. Kennedy, a vocal critic of childhood vaccines, emphasized that their positions on fundamental issues, approaches to governance, and philosophies of leadership are vastly different.
Clarifying Differences
While Kennedy did not elaborate on how he differs from Trump, he did make some claims on Twitter. Kennedy alleged that the Trump administration sold weapons to Ukraine in 2017, but he also pointed out that former President Barack Obama provided billions of dollars to the Ukrainian military amidst a steady barrage of hostile actions toward Russia. Kennedy also referred to alleged actions carried out by the Obama State Department in Ukraine during the 2014 “Revolution of Dignity” that toppled the previous government.
Trump’s Response
In a recent interview, Trump stated that if he is elected, he would end the Ukraine-Russia war in “24 hours” and that it would be easy to accomplish. Trump also expressed his concern over the horrors of the war, noting that entire blocks of apartments have been flattened since the conflict erupted last year.
Other Claims
Kennedy has also made claims that Trump was responsible for the widespread lockdowns implemented across the United States in early 2020 after the first COVID-19 cases were detected in the country. However, it’s worth noting that Trump, as president, had virtually no power to implement lockdowns at the local and state level, and he never called for a nationwide lockdown due to the virus.
Primary Race
Since Kennedy declared his candidacy several weeks ago, Trump has made virtually no mention of him in interviews or on his social media website Truth Social. Kennedy is facing President Joe Biden and self-help author Marianne Williamson in the Democratic primary, although it’s not clear how the primary will play out next year.
Assassination Claims
Kennedy drew headlines this week when he again suggested that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was involved in the 1963 assassination of his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy.
