RFK Jr. tapped to help pick Trump Cabinet as part of transition team
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that he’s been tapped to join the Trump administration transition team.
In his role, Kennedy would select personnel for the next Trump administration. He made the announcement in an interview with Tucker Carlson.
“I’m going to work to get him elected and … I’m working with the campaign. We’re working on policy issues together,” Kennedy said. “I’ve been asked to go on to the transition team and … to help pick the people who will be running the government. And I’m looking forward to that.”
“I don’t know what would happen to me if we lose,” he added, with Carlson suggesting prison.
Kennedy answered that he didn’t think about losing and would instead aim to be a “happy warrior.”
“I never really think about that. … What I think is ‘OK, here’s what I got to do today.’ And, you know, get up every day and say, ‘Reporting for duty, sir,’” he said.
“And, you know, nothing’s a crisis, everything’s a task, right? And so that’s what I’m going to be, kind of a happy warrior,” Kennedy added. “I know what I have to do, so I’m going to do it.”
Former President Donald Trump welcomed Kennedy to his campaign with open arms on Friday, featuring him at a Phoenix campaign rally shortly after Kennedy suspended his 2024 presidential bid.
In a recent interview, the former president said he was caught in unfamiliar territory upon his accession as president and made mistakes in choosing personnel. He said he had to rely on others to choose personnel, resulting in a large number of “RINOs,” or “Republicans in name only,” and unreliable staffers.
