Rhode Island Supreme Court Rejects Brief From Doctors Advising Against Giving Kids The Covid Jab
Dozens of medical doctors and academic scientists filed an amicus brief in a case concerning a couple, Joshua Nagel and Lauren Nagel, who have two daughters. Lauren wanted to vaccinate the children with the Covid-19 vaccine, but Joshua did not. In response, Lauren sought an order that would allow her alone to make the decision to vaccinate the girls, which Joshua opposed. The medical professionals disputed the American Academy of Pediatrics’ (AAP) Covid-19 vaccination recommendations for children and asserted that giving the Nagel girls the vaccine “would not be in their best interests.” However, the Rhode Island Supreme Court denied the brief without an explanation.
The case highlights the question of whether “best interests” is tied to AAP recommendations, meaning that the girls would be vaccinated if AAP changed its guidelines. Scientific studies indicate that children are the least vulnerable to Covid-19, and many countries, including Germany, France, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, have advised against distributing the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine to individuals under the age of 30.
The Covid-19 vaccine has been shown to have significant risks, particularly for young people. An analysis from Florida’s Surgeon General reported that there was an 84% increase in the relative incidence of cardiac-related deaths among males aged between 18-39 years old within 28 days after receiving an mRNA vaccination. Joshua was unsuccessful in his attempt to have sole decision-making regarding vaccinating the girls, and the court overrode his objections.
Pediatricians have encouraged minors to receive abortions without their parental consent, and AAP has pushed for puberty-blocking drugs for children. Although vaccines have become an emergency measure used in fighting a pandemic, approved for emergency use, it is unclear what the long-term effects of the Covid-19 vaccine are, and whether the benefits outweigh the risks for children.
Pending the outcome of Joshua’s appeal, both girls remain unvaccinated to date.
