After the Squad member mocked⁤ the witnesses’ evidence in her opening remarks, Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.), the ranking member of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Health, faced a⁤ strong ⁣response from⁤ Gaines.

Gaines did not take lightly Lee’s characterization of the testimonies against biological males participating in women’s sports as bigoted and “transphobic.”

“There’s‌ a place for‍ everybody to play sports in this country,” Gaines said, emphasizing the inclusion of transgender Americans. “But unsafe, unfair, and discriminatory practices must stop.”

“Inclusion cannot be prioritized over safety and fairness,” the NCAA legend concluded. “And ranking member Lee, if my ‌testimony makes me ‘transphobic,’ then I believe your opening monologue makes you a‍ misogynist.”

After a heated debate, Lee called a point of order, ‌demanding the removal of Gaines’ comments from the record.

Gaines testified alongside other female executives who were summoned as witnesses to⁣ address the‍ proposed Title IX rule modification by the Biden administration.

The chairwoman of ‌the House Oversight ‍Subcommittee ⁣on Health, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.), announced⁤ that Gaines,‌ along ‍with senior ‌legal fellow Sarah Parshall Perry of the Heritage Foundation and former head women’s lacrosse coach Kim Russell of Oberlin‌ College, will be present at the upcoming hearing on “The Importance of Protecting Female Athletics and ⁣Title IX.”

The hearing will focus on the proposed rule⁢ revisions to Title IX, which⁣ would include gender identity in the definition of sexual discrimination.

According to the proposed amendment, colleges and universities would not be able to prevent biological‌ men who identify as transgender women from competing in women’s sports.

Last ⁤week, McClain stated on Fox News, ‌”Congress must do everything ‍it can to ⁤protect women’s ⁤sports.”

“The Biden administration is putting women’s⁢ safety, ⁤privacy, and opportunities at risk by dismantling ‍Title IX,” McClain said.

“We look forward to ‍hearing from Riley Gaines and other ‌witnesses firsthand about how these rule changes harm fairness and protection ‌for ‍women in women’s sports across the country,” the ‍congresswoman concluded.

Gaines has‌ been a vocal opponent of biological male athletes competing against biological female⁤ athletes and a strong advocate for women’s sports in general.

The Olympic ⁣trial qualifier strongly criticized the⁢ Title ‍IX rule modification⁣ proposal from the Biden administration in June, describing the “rewrite” of the‌ women’s protection policy⁢ as “an abomination.”
