Riley Gaines wants SFSU attackers prosecuted: ‘I believe there needs to be accountability’
Riley Gaines, a 12x NCAA All-American swimmer and spokeswoman for the Independent Women’s Forum, was recently attacked during a speech at San Francisco State University. Gaines spoke to the Washington Examiner about the incident and her plans to prosecute those involved. She believes there needs to be accountability from the administration, the campus police department, and the protesters who verbally and physically assaulted her.
Gaines is on a mission to “save women’s sports” by preventing biological men from participating on female sports teams. Her speeches are gaining significant attention, but the recent incident has given her an even larger platform. She believes the rhetoric and precedent set by the White House’s support of transgender people in sports influenced the reaction from the SFSU president. Though shaken from the attack, Gaines is encouraging others to feel comfortable using their voice and plans to continue her mission to protect women’s sports and free speech.
