RNC picks Fox Business and Univision for second GOP debate.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has exciting news to share! The second Republican presidential debate will be televised by⁣ Fox Business and ⁢Univision. Fox Business has a‌ strong track ​record in hosting ‌debates, having successfully organized⁢ two during the 2016 Republican presidential primaries. Their sister network, Fox News⁣ Channel, will also host the first Republican‌ debate of the 2024⁢ cycle. Jay Wallace, president and executive ⁢editor ‍of Fox News Media, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “FOX Business is proud to partner with Univision for the second Republican primary debate from the renowned Ronald Reagan Presidential Library to provide all ‍Americans ‍with an unparalleled opportunity to assess the candidates and their stances on critical issues ahead of the primary⁣ season.”

Expanding Reach to Latino Voters

The RNC’s collaboration with Univision,⁢ a Spanish language network, is a strategic ​move to engage⁤ with Latino voters in the 2024 ‍election. Maria Martinez-Guzman, executive vice ⁣president for Noticias Univision, highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating, “Our unprecedented partnership⁤ with the RNC and FOX‍ Business will provide a unique platform for the Republican Presidential Candidates to address the issues facing millions of our viewers.⁢ Hispanic​ voters will play a critical role in⁢ determining who will be the next president of the United⁤ States, and Univision’s⁣ audiences will be well informed when they cast their ballot.”

Qualifications⁣ and ​Top Contenders

The requirements for candidates to ​participate in the Sept.​ 27 debate⁤ were recently‌ revealed. GOP hopefuls must reach 3% in⁣ two different national polls or 3% ‍in one national poll along with 3% ⁤in two polls from different early primary‌ or caucus⁢ states. Additionally, ‍candidates need to have 50,000 unique donors. The top contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, including former President Donald ⁢Trump, ⁤Gov. ⁢Ron DeSantis (R-FL), ⁤former South Carolina Gov.⁢ Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, have already qualified for the first debate and are likely to qualify for the second debate.

All ‍qualified candidates have expressed their intention to participate in the⁣ debate in Milwaukee, except for Trump. While the former president ‍has hinted at his non-attendance,‌ he ​has not definitively stated​ whether ⁣or not he will participate.
