RNC reveals 8 candidates for Milwaukee debate.

The Republican National Committee announced on Tuesday, ‍that the first Republican presidential debate will ​feature eight candidates on Wednesday‌ from Milwaukee, ⁤Wisconsin.

The list of potential presidential candidates include:

  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.)
  • Former South⁤ Carolina Governor Nikki⁢ Haley (R-S.C.)
  • North Dakota Governor Doug​ Burgum (R-N.D.)
  • South ⁣Carolina ⁢Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C)
  • Former Vice President Mike Pence
  • Former Arkansas Governor ‍Asa Hutchinson (R-Ark.)
  • Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R-N.J.)
  • Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy

The requirements to make it to the debate stage included each candidate having to reach 1% support in three national polls, or 1% in two national polls and two⁢ state ‍polls from either New Hampshire,⁢ Iowa, South Carolina or Nevada.

In addition, each candidate had to​ meet the requirement of having ‍40,000 unique donors to ⁢their‍ campaign ⁢and “at least 200⁤ unique donors per state or territory in 20+ states and or territories,” according to the RNC criteria.

Former President Donald Trump has recently stated he will not participate in the debate, saying he will not sign the GOP loyalty pledge.

According to the RNC, the pledge requires⁣ that candidates must support the Republican nominee, they must ⁣agree to not participate in⁣ any⁣ non-RNC-sanctioned debates for ⁤the rest of ⁣the 2024⁤ election cycle‌ and they must agree to data-sharing​ with the national party committee.

Multiple issues will be discussed during the debate, including inflation and the ​economy, tensions with Russia and China, migration and the southern border, and more.

The debate will air on Fox News and Rumble will be the online ⁣live-streaming partner.
