RNC requests voter roll documents from 48 states and DC –

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has made public record requests regarding voter rolls in 48 states and Washington, D.C., as part of its efforts too enhance election integrity. This initiative follows former President donald Trump’s claims of election fraud affecting his 2020 presidential loss. The RNC aims to ensure that states are effectively maintaining their voter registration lists by removing ineligible voters, including the deceased,criminals,out-of-state movers, and non-citizens. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley emphasized the importance of openness in the voter registration process, stating that voters have the right to know their states are managing these lists accurately. Additionally, the RNC’s requests were influenced by an executive order from Trump that mandates proof of citizenship for voter registration in federal elections. Notably, North Dakota and Maryland did not receive record requests due to their unique voting regulations.

The Republican National Committee made public record requests surrounding the voter rolls of 48 states and Washington, D.C.

President Donald Trump has long suggested that election fraud played a role in his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden. Now, the RNC is seeking to learn how each state is maintaining voter registration lists.

The RNC wants to make sure that each state is removing “the deceased, criminals, out-of-state movers, and non-citizens” from its voter rolls, per a press release.

“The RNC is once again taking action to make our elections more secure,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement. “Voters have a right to know that their states are properly maintaining voter rolls and quickly acting to clean voter registration lists by removing ineligible voters. If states unlawfully block our requests, or if we discover that states have failed to accurately maintain their voter rolls, the RNC stands ready to act.”

The request follows Trump’s executive order requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Voters will have to provide a government-issued document to prove their citizenship.

MICHAEL WHATLEY HOPEFUL ‘COMMONSENSE AGENDA’ WILL WIN IN MIDTERM ELECTIONS

“The RNC’s records requests are part of its comprehensive election integrity program. The RNC is working to increase transparency in our elections and stands ready to ensure transparency if stats [sic] do not comply,” the press release says.

North Dakota did not receive a records request because it does not require voter registration. If a voter is over 18, a U.S. citizen, and has lived in the state for 30 days before Election Day, they can fill out a ballot. Maryland also did not receive the RNC’s letter.
