RNC to offer loyalty pledge to debate-qualified candidates only.

The Republican National Committee’s Pledge for Primary Candidates

The Republican National Committee’s controversial pledge for primary candidates to support the eventual nominee has sparked a lot of debate. However, there’s a twist to this story that might change the game.

A person familiar with the RNC’s plans confirmed to the Washington Examiner that the pledge will not be presented to candidates until they qualify for the debates in August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A Strategic Move

This strategic move by the RNC aims to make it more difficult for primary candidates to use the pledge as an excuse for not participating in the primary debate. It adds an extra layer of challenge for those who are skeptical about signing and adhering to the pledge.

Before candidates are given the opportunity to sign the pledge, they must first satisfy the other requirements for the debate stage. This includes meeting polling and fundraising requirements, ensuring a fair and competitive selection process.

Notable candidates, such as former President Donald Trump, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and former Texas Rep. Will Hurd, have expressed their skepticism about signing the pledge.

With the clock ticking, candidates have until 48 hours prior to the debate to meet all the qualifications and secure their spot on the stage.

So mark your calendars! The Republican primary debate is set to take place on August 23 and will be aired on Fox News.
