Roger Williams declares Harris has ‘no clue’ how to help taxpayers – Washington Examiner
Texas Representative Roger Williams has criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, claiming that she lacks understanding of how to manage the economy and assist taxpayers. During his appearance on Newsmax, Williams stated, ”She doesn’t have a clue on how to generate income for Americans and help the taxpayers,” arguing that price fixing and increased regulation are ineffective. His comments come ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where Harris is expected to unveil her economic policy, which may include a federal ban on price gouging. Williams emphasizes the importance of competition, free enterprise, and the principles of risk and reward in driving economic success.
Roger Williams declares Harris has ‘no clue’ how to help taxpayers
Rep. Roger Williams (R-TX) declared Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrat presidential nominee, has “no clue” how to run the economy or help taxpayers.
“She doesn’t have a clue on how to generate income for Americans and help the taxpayers,” Williams said during an appearance on Newsmax. “When you start price fixing, it never works. There’s a thing called competition. There’s a thing called free enterprise. There’s a thing called risk and reward that makes the country great.”
Williams’s comments arrive just before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and the likely unveiling of Harris’s proposed economic policy, which media reports speculate will contain a federal ban on “price gouging.”
Such action would likely see bureaucrats and state officials impose fines on food corporations that market products above a government-determined price. These practices have led to scarcity, price hikes, and government rationing.
“The fact of the matter is you can’t price fix and go after the industry in the food industry,” said Williams. “They got the lowest margins anywhere. I’m in the car business. I’m a car dealer. We got the lowest margins anywhere.
“She’s confusing sales dollars with net dollars, and it doesn’t work. To go after the food industry is ridiculous. She’s picking on the wrong people,” he added.
Competition is necessary for the industry to flourish, and government imposition must be stymied, Williams said.
“Who’s gonna pay for all the freebies?” he asked. “Maybe some guy is gonna get a tax credit to buy a house who just got his student loan written off. I mean, this is a joke, but we gotta be able to show how it will not work.”
“Don’t go after the industries, any industry, or penalize them for making margins and giving service and product,” Williams added.
