Romance Icon Fabio Advises Young Men: ‘Embrace Authenticity, Skip Soy Milk’
Romance Novel Star Fabio Urges Next Generation of Men to Embrace Masculinity
In a recent interview with Fox Business’ Neil Cavuto on “Cavuto: Coast To Coast,” the legendary romance novel cover star Fabio Lanzoni, known simply as Fabio, shared his thoughts on the importance of masculine men in today’s society. The 64-year-old model/actor expressed his concern over the “woke movement” that he believes is making male characters in romance books too soft.
During the interview, Fabio emphasized the significance of testosterone, stating, “Today, it’s almost like they don’t like men [to have] testosterone… Of course, in times of war, who are you going to rely on? Soldiers, they have to have testosterone.”

According to Fabio, the trend of soft masculinity in romance stories is just a passing phase. ”They’re going to be in and out. That’s the reality,” he added.
Offering advice to the next generation of men, Fabio encouraged them to be true to themselves and avoid drinking soy milk. He firmly believes that men and women are different and that men need testosterone. “And especially, in cases of war… who do you think is going to save you? The metrosexual guy in the city or somebody who has testosterone, who is in the army? I’m telling you, it’s like the world right now is upside down,” he passionately stated.
Cavuto also shared a picture of Fabio in a military uniform from his earlier years, highlighting his connection to the armed forces.
These sentiments echo Fabio’s previous comments to the New York Post, where he criticized the ”woke movement” and its portrayal of “soft masculinity” in romance novels as detached from reality. He emphasized that many women he spoke to expressed a desire for “real men” rather than metrosexual characters.
Fabio rose to fame in the 80s and 90s as the face of numerous romance novels before transitioning to the big screen.

What are some potential drawbacks of solely promoting sensitive and gentle portrayals of men?
Want men to be men anymore. They want men to be soft, gentle, like little girls.” Fabio argued that this shift in societal expectations is leading to a lack of strong male role models, which he believes is detrimental to the development of the next generation of men.
Fabio’s success as a romance novel cover star in the 1980s and 1990s was largely attributed to his ruggedly masculine appearance, which captivated readers around the world. His chiseled physique, flowing locks, and smoldering gaze made him the epitome of masculinity and an object of desire for many women.
However, in recent years, there has been a growing movement towards redefining masculinity and promoting more inclusive, sensitive portrayals of men. While this has been widely welcomed by many, Fabio is concerned that it has swung too far in the opposite direction, neglecting the importance of traditional masculine qualities.
Fabio emphasized that being masculine does not mean being aggressive or disrespectful towards others. Rather, he argued that masculinity encompasses qualities such as strength, confidence, and assertiveness. He believes that these qualities are important for men to possess in order to navigate the complexities of life and achieve personal and professional success.
The romance novel star also expressed his worry that the current push towards softer male characters in literature is sending the wrong message to young boys. He believes that it is essential for young men to have role models who embody strength and resilience, as this will help them develop a healthy sense of self and the skills necessary to face life’s challenges.
Fabio’s sentiments resonate with a growing discourse on the role of masculinity in society. Some argue that traditional masculine traits can perpetuate harmful gender norms and contribute to toxic masculinity. However, others believe that there is value in embracing and celebrating these traits, as they are integral to a well-balanced society.
It is essential to strike a balance between embracing diverse expressions of masculinity and acknowledging the importance of traditional qualities. Men should not be pressured to conform to a narrow definition of masculinity, but they should also not be discouraged from embodying traits that have traditionally been associated with strength and resilience.
As society continues to evolve, it is crucial to have discussions on masculinity that are nuanced and inclusive. Both the strengths and potential pitfalls of traditional masculine qualities should be acknowledged and examined. By doing so, we can foster an environment that allows men to embrace their unique identities while also promoting a healthy and respectful understanding of gender dynamics.
In conclusion, Fabio’s call for the next generation of men to embrace masculinity should be seen as an invitation to explore and reclaim the positive aspects of traditional masculinity, without falling into the traps of toxic behavior. It is important to create a society that appreciates and values diverse expressions of gender while recognizing the benefits of strong and assertive male role models. By doing so, we can cultivate a generation of men who are confident, respectful, and well-rounded individuals capable of making positive contributions to their communities and the world at large.
