Ronna McDaniel Wins Republican National Committee Leadership Vote
Ronna McDaniel, who defeated Harmeet Dahillon on Friday, won her reelection bid for the Republican National Committee’s leadership through the 2024 presidential elections.
McDaniel (the niece of Sen. Mitt, Utah) was elected RNC chairwoman in 2017. Former president Donald Trump endorsed her, but she was criticised for the Republicans’ loss in 2020 and the unexpectedly poor showing at the last year’s midterms. Dhillon, a former vice-chairwoman of the California Republican Party, was a legal advisor on Trump’s 2020 campaign. said The GOP has to be there “a lot of changes,” McDaniel is being criticized “losing elections.”
The RNC is responsible for the party’s fundraising and nomination process. It conducts its leadership race via secret ballot.

McDaniel received a private endorsement from Trump.
