San Francisco 49ers Star Deebo Samuel Rips Into Philadelphia Eagles’ James Bradberry

After being called for a hold on Super Bowl LVII’s close play and even ahref=”https://www.boundingintosports.com/2023/02/super-bowl-lvii-philadelphia-eagles-james-bradberry-admits-to-holding-it-was-holding/”>admitting that he was guilty of the penalty, Eagles’ cornerback James Bradberry still can’t catch a break. Especially not from the 49ers’ all-world wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

Bradberry was famously flagged during the fourth quarter, on what would turn out to be the winning drive of Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs. The game was won by the Chiefs 38 to 35 after Harrison Butker’s field goal with 11 seconds left.

Bradberry’s illegal play essentially set up the deciding score. With the game tied and just 1:54 to play, Bradberry was flagged for defensive holding on a critical third-and-8 in the Eagles’ red zone. The Chiefs were able to hold on to possession for a while longer, allowing them to run down the clock and allow Butker to score the game-winning goal.

Philly was left with just five seconds of regulation play. The Eagles needed a miracle and attempted a Hail Mary pass at the end.

It was unfinished, and Kansas City received its second Lombardi Trophy within four years.

Bradberry admitted that he was rightfully called for defensive holding on that fateful Super Bowl play, but that hasn’t stopped Deebo Samuel from burying him.

“Trash.”

That’s the one-word description that Samuel gave to Bradberry and his teammates just a few days after they lost the Super Bowl. The 49ers star didn’t spare the rod when it came to striking down the secondary.

“The D-Line makes both of (the Eagles cornerbacks) look like all-pros, Samuel stated on the I Am Athlete podcast. “Except Slay. I do respect Slay.”

Samuel, however, simply answered “Bradberry” when asked: “Trash.”

Deebo has fallen in line with several of his ‘Niners teammates, who feel like they should have been the ones who advanced to The Big Game in Glendale, Arizona. And they could have, but for an unfortunate set-of circumstances.

31-7 was the score in San Francisco as Philadelphia won the NFC Championship.

The Bay Area buzzed about those 49ers, until all their active quarterbacks were eliminated in the most crucial game of the season. From there, it just wasn’t much of a contest.

Unlikely hero is still possible. Brock Purdy He was undefeated in the final stretch. An elbow injury led to his exclusion from the game.

In the second half, he would return but to only give the ball away on running plays. San Francisco, on the other hand, held serve and let the clock run down as fast as possible.

While the NFL schedule for 2023 hasn’t been released yet, there’s a good chance that the 49ers and Philadelphia – two of the top teams in the NFC – will likely meet up.

It will be fascinating to see what happens when Samuel and Bradberry are on opposite ends of the field.
