San Francisco Moves Forward With $5 Million-Per-Person ‘Reparations’ Handouts While City Falls Apart

Tuesday saw the San Francisco Board of Supervisors move forward with a $5 million per person plan. “reparations” To those who were not slaves, financed from those who never owned slaves.

California’s fourth largest city is struggling to address rampant homelessness, rising crime and poverty. However, San Francisco leaders unanimously accepted recommendations from the African American Reparations Advisory Committee for generous payments based upon recipients’ races. This was in response to the evils that a long-abolished institution has done, all courtesy innocent taxpayers. There were several reparations that the committee proposed, including a $5 million one-time check to all eligible adults, the elimination or tax burdens and guaranteed annual incomes of $97,000 over 250 years. The supervisors could approve all the recommendations of the committee.

“Now, the real work continues,” Supervisor Shamann Walton stated Tuesday at the meeting. “As I’ve said before, we have to stay focused and stay together as a community because now it is 100 percent more prevalent that we cannot be separated or divided.”

An ex-Black Lives Matter activist criticised the plans, blaming leaders for focusing on slavery and an injustice to minorities. “unrealistic” The city’s real problems are ignored while it works out a plan to repair them.

“This is 111 ways to gaslight black Americans into thinking that we need to be dependent on a system of handouts to be successful,” Fox News’ Xaviaer DuRousseau stated the following: “Ingraham Angle.” “It is so unrealistic to think that the average family in San Francisco is going to be able to pay $600,000 extra apiece.”

The estimate of $600,000.00 comes from an analysis done by Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.

“Paying $5 million to 35,455 individuals totals about $175 billion,” Lee Ohanian, Hoover Institution, reported. “To put this in perspective, the city’s budget for the current fiscal year is $14 billion, while this proposed sum exceeds the current state budgets of all US states except for California, New York, and Texas.”

The exorbitant reparations program reflects the priorities set by a left-wing board that clearly cares more about virtue signaling rather than substantive governance. One glance at the city’s issues shows that residents who have never been slave owners don’t care about historical reparations.

“It’s disgusting to me that we are more focused on slavery, which ended in 1865, than we’re focused on veterans who are on the streets of San Francisco, homeless and begging for spare change in 2023,” DuRousseau spoke on Fox News Tuesday. “That’s where they need to start sending their money.”

Regional regulators voted Wednesday in favor of the city’s decline from open drug use and homelessness. “crack down on gas appliances.” The Bay Area Air Quality Management District approved rules that would eliminate nitrogen oxide emission from furnaces and water heaters.
