GOP opponent criticizes Schiff for endorsing ‘criminal culture’ in California.

Republican Opponent Slams Rep. Adam ⁣Schiff for Supporting “Criminal Culture” in California

One of Rep. Adam Schiff’s⁣ Republican opponents ⁣in the 2024 California Senate race has launched a scathing attack, accusing him of endorsing a “criminal culture” ⁢in the Golden State. Eric Early, a Republican vying for the Senate⁢ seat currently held⁢ by⁤ Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA),‍ took aim ‌at Schiff for allegedly turning a blind eye to crime in his own Los Angeles-area congressional district.

“There‌ is no punishment for these people‌ who are doing the smash-and-grabs, ⁤zero,” Early expressed to Fox‍ News. “And⁢ Adam Schiff has not said‍ a word against⁢ it.”

“Our district attorney, who ‍Adam Schiff supports, refuses to charge them with felony theft or burglary. ‌So, they all⁣ know they can get away with this. And the fact that Adam⁣ Schiff ‍has not ⁣said a word about it ⁤is further confirmation about how he supports this criminal culture out here,” Early continued.

Early also placed blame on the lack of leadership in California, with Schiff⁣ being one of the leaders he ‍accuses of failing to⁤ address the crisis.

“There’s a complete vacuum of leadership in this entire state of California, and Adam Schiff is one of the members of the vacuum class,” Early told the outlet.

The‍ California Senate race⁤ is anticipated to ⁤be a highly competitive contest‍ within the‍ Democratic Party during the 2024 cycle, with Schiff and ‌Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) emerging ⁢as the‍ clear front-runners. However, due to California’s primary ⁣system, only the top two candidates from the March 2024 primary, regardless of party affiliation, ⁤will advance⁣ to the general election in November 2024. This means that a Republican candidate like Early may face exclusion⁢ from the general election.

Current polling indicates that two Southern California Democrats, Schiff and Porter, are likely to secure spots in the general election, but there remains a significant number⁤ of undecided voters. A July poll conducted ⁤by the Public⁤ Policy Institute of California shows Porter leading the field with 19%, followed⁢ by Schiff with 16%, Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) in third place with 13%, and Early in fourth place with 6%.
